2024 KASTA Summer String Workshop in the Books!
On July 19th and 20th, the Kansas chapter of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) held its annual KASTA Summer String Workshop at the Wichita State University School of Music.

Wichita Suburban League orchestra teachers at Derby North MS w/ guest conductor & composer, Perry Holbrook
On Saturday - November 11, 2023, students and Wichita area orchestra teachers put on a concert with only 5 hours of rehearsal time! Led by Wichita native and Derby Public Schools graduate, Perry Holbrook, the WSL Honors Orchestra took place in the large gym of Derby North Middle School from 8:00 to 2:00 pm.
KASTA Launches Private Studio Teacher Summits
On Saturday, November 11, 2024, KASTA held the first of many Private Studio Teacher Forums to come. Led by our new chair of Private Studio Teachers, Erinn Renyer, the Forum took place at the Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center on the Washburn University campus from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.
Building Our ASTA Student Chapter at Wichita State University
My name is Hannah Copeland, and I am a future string music educator . . . At the beginning of last school year, Fall 2022, I had no idea I would take part in building an ASTA chapter at the Wichita State University School of Music.
